If you are angry–a reactive mode–it is difficult to develop a plan. A good metaphor for your anger is how they handle elephants in India. When the elephants are very small, they are trained to stay in one place by having a foot tied to a stake. When the elephant turns into a huge adult, it is held in place by the same type of small stake. Although the adult elephant is strong enough to break loose, he has been programmed to stay put. Anger is similar. It anchors you down, and you can’t move forward until you can break that bond. You have the power to break loose, you just need to exercise it.
